ટીવીના ન્યુઝ એન્કર્સ વિશે વક્ર વ્યુઝ!

બગાસું ખાતાં પતાસું પડ્યું! ટીવીની ગમતી એન્કર નીધી રાઝદાનને શોધવા જતાં મિડીયાની ફિરકી લેતો બ્લોગ મળ્યો. જો કે આમ તો ૨૦૦૮માં અહીં આવી ગયા પછી, છેલ્લાં ચાર વરસથી, ઇન્ડીયન ટીવી ચેનલો સાથેનો સંપર્ક લગભગ છુટી ગયો છે. એકાદ વરસથી તો ઘરમાં ટીવી પણ નથી, એટલે  ટેલીવિઝન સાથેનો જે કાંઇ સંપર્ક છે તે માત્ર ઓન લાઇન ટીવીનો જ છે. અન્ના હઝારેના ઉપવાસ વખતે થોડો સમય NDTV, Times Now અને CNN IBN એ ત્રણેય ભારતીય ચેનલો જોવાનું નિયમિત રાખ્યું હતું. પરંતુ, ચર્ચામાં ભાગ લેનારા પેનલીસ્ટ્સ કરતાં પણ એન્કર્સ જે  પ્રમાણમાં બૂમાબૂમ કરતા હતા, તેને લીધે જ્યાં સૌથી ઓછો ઘોંઘાટ લાગ્યો તે NDTV જ જોવાનું ચાલુ રાખ્યું. 

દરેક છાપાની જેમ પ્રત્યેક ચેનલ પણ પોતાને ત્યાં વ્યક્ત થતા વિચારો પૈકી તેમણે પ્રમોટ કરવાની લાઇનને હાઇલાઇટ કરવાની નીતિ રાખતી જ હોય છે. એક જાગૃત દર્શક એ લાઇનની મધ્યમાં ‘બીટ્વીન ધી લાઇન્સ’ જોઇ જ શકતા હોય છે. તેથી NDTV સામે બાયસ રિપોર્ટીંગના આત્યંતિક આક્ષેપો છતાં મને એની ચર્ચાઓ ગમતી હોય છે. ખાસ કરીને નીધી રાઝદાનનો પ્રોગ્રામ ‘Left Right & Center’ અને બરખા દત્ત દ્વારા હેન્ડલ થતા કાર્યક્રમો. 

બરખાને સરકારે પદ્મશ્રીનો ખિતાબ આપ્યો હોઇ કોંગ્રેસની તરફેણ કરશે એવા જોખમ સાથે અને ‘રાડિયા ટેપ’ દ્વારા દિલ્હીના સત્તા વર્તુળોમાં બરખાની નિકટતા જાણ્યા પછી પત્રકારત્વ કેટલું હશે અને લોબીંગ કેટલું હશે તેની મુંઝવણ છતાં; એ જે લેવલના ઇન્ટર્વ્યુ કે પેનલીસ્ટ્સને લઇ આવે છે, તેને લીધે એ પ્રોગ્રામ્સને એક અલગ કક્ષામાં મૂકી શકાય.

આમ તો બરખા દત્તની વિરુધ્ધની એક કરતાં વધુ આખે આખી વેબસાઇટ્સ ઇન્ટર્નેટ ઉપર ઉપલબ્ધ છે. મને એ પણ ખબર છે કે બરખાનું નામ આવતાં કેવાં અંતિમવાદી રિએક્શન્સ આવતાં હોય છે. એવા મિત્રોને મઝા પડે એવી એક રસપ્રદ આઇટમ ધ્યાનમાં આવી. એક બ્લોગ ‘મિડીયા ક્રુક્સ’ ઉપર ભારતના સૌથી ‘ખરાબ ટીવી એન્કર્સ’નું ‘ટોપ ટેન’ લીસ્ટ બનાવ્યું છે. અને ‘નંબર વન’ કોણ થયું? તમારું અનુમાન સાચું છે…. બરખા દત્ત! એપ્રિલ મહિનાથી એ યાદી માર્કેટમાં હોઇ અમુક મિત્રોએ જોઇ જ હશે. મને તેમાં સમાવિષ્ટ દસે દસ વિશે જે ટૂંકી નોંધ આવી છે, તેની ભાષાની મઝા માણવા જેવી લાગી છે. 

એ યાદીમાં કે તેના ક્રમમાં કે ઇવન કોણ તેમાં છે અને કોણ રહી ગયું એમાં મને કોઇ રસ નથી. ભાષાના વિદ્યાર્થી તરીકે મને તેમાં દરેક એન્કર માટે જે શાર્પ કોમેન્ટ કરાઇ છે તે ઇન્ટરેસ્ટીંગ લાગી છે. તેના અમુક અંશો જ શેર કરવા છે. બાકી આખું લીસ્ટ અને દરેકના વિસ્તૃત પરિચય માટે તો ‘મિડીયા ક્રુક્સ’ Media Crooks બ્લોગની જ વિઝીટ કરવી રહી. કેટલાંક નિરીક્ષણો સાથે સંમત થવાનું ન પણ ગમે.. (જેમ કે નીધી વિશેની કોમેન્ટ!) પણ આપણે તો ભાષાનો આનંદ લેવાનો છે અને તે રીતે અર્નબ ગોસ્વામી વિશેની કોમેન્ટ શ્રેષ્ઠ લાગી છે. (બેસ્ટ એમોન્ગ વર્સ્ટ?) Okay folks, let us take a ride….

Nidhi Razdan, NDTV : .She has come to prominence more for many reasons other than journalistic skills. ‘Left, right, centre’ is her signature programme and happens to be one of those mindless debates on every topic under the sun. She is proof that you can be an expert on everything with specialisation in nothing.....

Barkha Dutt : ....She is probably the only news celeb on TV that has a ‘wardrobe sponsor’...

Arnab Goswami: ....There can be no denying that Arnab is one of the rare patriots among journalists. Almost every one wishes our judiciary could be as quick and decisive as Arnab is. Which is the reason I conferred him the title ‘Justice Arnab’. His performance on TimesNow has definitely battered ratings of NDTV and CNN-IBN. Pick up any scam, any scandal Arnab can throw the documents at you. IB, RAW, GOI have no escape – all documents and papers have to pass through Arnab. Sometime back I remarked: Most of us wake up in the morning and want Coffee or Tea! Not Arnab, he just wants ‘answers’....

Vir Sanghvi : ....I honestly don’t have any idea whatsoever what Sanghvi currently does. I don’t even see him on any Cookery or Foodie show.. 

Kumar Ketkar ....He is also reported to be a former speech writer during elections for Congress members. Isn’t that an accomplishment any journalist would be proud of?... 

Karan Thapar :... Readers must remember that every journo looks tall in the studio but not in actual life. KT is not blessed with stature and the same goes for his journalism...

Vinod Sharma : ...For those who don’t know, Vinod Sharma is the political editor of Hindustan Times. That’s right, ‘Political’ is the key word – less of an editor and more of a politician....

Shekhar Gupta: ...His senseless programme ‘Walk the talk’ , the equivalent of ‘Koffee with Karan’ or ‘On the couch with Koel’, continues on NDTV…
